Target Is Selling The Cutest Rainbow Merch For LGBTQ Pride Month

Target is celebrating LGBTQ pride with rainbow merch and they’re helping out a great cause

For the seventh year in a row, Target is kicking off LGTBQ Pride Month with some very, very cute rainbow merchandise. The best part? The retail store is also donating $100,000 to GLSEN, a non-profit that advocates for safe, inclusive schools.

Target is launching their campaign #TakePride with a whole selection of rainbow-themed tees, tanks, swimwear, accessories, and kids clothes. And, according to their website, the retail store has some important words they want their customers to live by: “We’re not born with pride. We take pride. Pride in celebrating who we were born to be.” (Side note: I knew I loved Target for a reason.)

“Those are the powerful words we at Target want all guests and team members — of every size, color, gender and sexual orientation — to hear as we head into Pride month this week,” the store noted. “But let us be clear: to Target, pride doesn’t just start and end in June, it is a year-round commitment. And this year, we’re going all out, supporting Pride parades, events and merchandise.”

Okay, now let’s take a look at all of this bright, colorful merch. There’s this comfy heather grey tank top with a gorgeous rainbow front and center to demonstrate all of your pride.

“We’re making our message loud and clear,” Laysha Ward, executive vice president and chief corporate social responsibility officer, said in a statement. “Target proudly stands with the LGBT community, both as a team member and team player through all that we do – from our volunteer efforts to our long-standing partnerships with groups like Family Equality Council and Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network, to the very products we carry in our stores and online.”

The retail company has had a long history of allying with the LGBTQ community. In 2014, they made a public endorsement of gay marriage. They also removed a number of signs that made references to boy/girl products and male/female products, in an effort to stop gendering items in their store.

And, in 2016, they came out in support of the federal Equality Act, which opposes discrimination and protects people in the LGBTQ community.

“In our stores, we demonstrate our commitment to an inclusive experience in many ways,” the retail store noted. “Most relevant for the conversations currently underway, we welcome transgender team members and guests to use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity.”

Three big, big cheers for Target. Didn’t think it was possible, but we love you even more now.
