Eva Mendes is just like us — she hides from her kids on Sunday mornings

Momming in the morning is so freaking hard — especially on the weekends. While all the kid-free folk of the world get to spend their Saturdays and Sundays lounging lazily in bed until the double-digits of the morning — or even the afternoon — those of us with child are usually up before the sun. In fact, what is a weekend, really? It all blends. Luckily, Eva Mendes  totally sees us. In a hilarious post, Ryan Gosling’s partner in crime sums up the very real struggle of trying to sleep in with kids, making us totally forgive her for that “sweatpants are the number one cause of divorce in America” comment.

“Sunday. Still in bed. Trying to hide from my kids. (not having success),” the mom-of-two starts the post.

Eva, who always looks so glam whenever she is photographed, whether on the red carpet or at the grocery store, then lets us in on one of her dirty little secrets: just like us, she doesn’t always wash her face before bed — because seriously, who has time?

“And no, I didn’t wash my makeup off last night,” she continued. “I know, I know so bad,  yadda yadda but I like the ‘next day of the night before’ eye make up look. My skin disagrees tho.”

She then encourages the rest of us to hide from our children and steal some me time — even if just for a moment. “To all you mamas out there, hope you find a moment to sneak away from the madness today even for a few minutes. Calgon take me awayyyyy (the older moms will know what that means)” she concluded the post.

Mendes seriously opened up about her role as a mom to daughters Amada and Esmeralda to Kelly Clarkson last week, revealing that being a stay-at-home mom is basically on-par to being someone’s unpaid bitch.

“Nobody told me it was gonna really be a job. And a job that I needed an incredible amount of skill for, in different areas,” she said on Kelly’s new daytime talkshow. Amongst the duties she listed? “A chauffeur, a cook, a personal assistant to an abusive boss.”

“They don’t appreciate it!” exclaimed Kelly, also mother of two.

“No, they don’t! They’re not grateful! Oh my God, do they get grateful? Does that happen at some point?” Mendes questioned the audience. “In any other profession, you’d need to take a test or pass tests. The only test I had to pass was a pregnancy test. That doesn’t seem fair, right?”

It’s definitely not fair, Eva. And we totally feel your pain.
