A New ‘Aladdin’ Trailer Just Dropped And I’m Not Crying, You’re Crying

Disney’s live action Aladdin can’t hit theaters soon enough

Look, every Disney fan on Earth is already stoked for the live action remake of Aladdin. Disney could release no further trailers or information and we would all line up outside theaters on the release date anyway. But bless, Disney has chosen to keep giving us new trailers anyway, and the latest one just shows exactly what a masterpiece this movie is going to be.

Behold.

From the first few seconds, that trailer is gripping. Like, literally me when Ali was trying to escape the police and busted out those parkour moves:

And it only gets better from there.

Here are some of the things we’ve learned from this new, longer trailer: The cinematography is stunning. That set design? I have chills.

Jasmine is gorgeous and we stan that casting. The only thing we’re not here for is that anyone could see that stunner in the market and not immediately know she’s royalty because she is so clearly a queen.

Jafar is still way hotter than Ali. Sorry, not sorry.

Will Smith is no Robin Williams, but his energy and humor seem like they’ll honor that legacy.

The First Full Trailer For 'Aladdin' Just Dropped

This trailer shows us a lot more moments from the film than what we’ve seen previously, but more importantly, it shows us how closely it’s going to mirror the style of the animated classic we all know and love — right down to some identical lines in the script. There are some scenes that also show us it’s clearly its own movie, but Disney knew better than to mess with something we’ve loved since we were children, and it shows in the many homages we see in this trailer.

Also, our first glimpses of how Will Smith is going to own his role as Genie, and the first bit of the score we’ve really gotten to hear: A few bars of “A Whole New World.” I was fully in tears by the end of this trailer, because it tugged on my nostalgic heartstrings. I now have full confidence that Disney is going to deliver a version of Aladdin that’s new and exciting and just as touching and hilarious as the original, while still taking good care of our nostalgic hearts. It’s going to be perfect. I can feel it.

I’m not the only one who feels that way. The new trailer released on Twitter, and Disney fans were immediately here for it.

The movie is scheduled to be released in theaters May 24, which is just not nearly soon enough. Until then, we’ll be hoping Disney gives us more to go off, but also staying just this hyped if they don’t.
